Long and Overdue...

Ok, where to start?

This is a really long post everyone.

I finished work on the 21st of December 2006, since then, I think I have been at home 7 days, but not consecutively.

It all started on the 15th of December, my staff Xmas Party, was a great night, a bit of mix up, but hey isn’t there always a problem. The next day we drove 2.5 hours for BF Dad’s (divorced) Family Xmas Party, at which the his new GF cooked. Was a great meal, we played cricket on the front lawn and stayed up late with ‘Sing Star’ and stayed the night. Drove home the next day (2.5 hours) around lunchtime and went to sleep.

Then started the last week of school, clean up, a baby-sit week. That’s all we do in the last week of the year, baby-sitting!!! A very full on week, class party, cleaning, keeping kiddies amused, presents etc. Second last day, one of my gorgeous girls broke her arm in three places. She was hysterical and I don’t do breaks/blood very well. She was crying, her Mum was crying and I was crying, she is OK, I saw her a couple of days ago, but I think I was just very tired and worn out by this stage.

School ended and I didn’t cry this year!!! I think because it was such a hard bunch of kids this year, I wasn’t sad to see ‘some’ of them go J. But still couldn’t comprehend that I now had 5 weeks holidays. Now I can’t comprehend how they are almost gone, well.. as I continue you might!!!

On the 22nd we drove to Shepparton for a B’day Party, friend of mine came down from Brisbane and we stopped over the night and then drove on to Bendigo for the real Xmas.

So we finally made it to Xmas. I was feeling pretty tired and was starting to unwind from school; I was sleeping well which was great. Had a great Xmas lunch at BF Mum’s house, and then we went to her new husband’s family’s place for dinner. It was a bit full on, 30 people I didn’t know on Xmas Day, eating their food. I felt like I was intruding and I suppose it took around ½ an hour to get comfortable and start chatting. They had a great tradition there though. They bought a piƱata from a market and filled it with lolly bags, one for each child and hung it from a tree where no one could reach it. After dinner they each got to have a hit, when it broke each child got a lolly bag. It was a pity about the freezing cold and wind!

That night I went to bed totally stuffed!!! I woke up around 3am feeling a little ‘yuck’, funny sounds from the belly and feeling like I’d eaten too many sweets (too many to chose from!), though I know I was very careful, I deliberately didn’t want that feeling.

I got worse, the diarrhoea started, so many trips to the toilet, then at 5am I vomited, and then again at 7.30am, I was freezing and moaning from stomach cramps. This went on for the whole of Boxing Day, the day we were supposed to go home. On the bright side the diarrhoea stopped that night and I think I lost all the weight I put on in the lead up to and the day of Xmas.

Ok home on the 27th, we were supposed to go pretty much straight away back to Leeton, (BF Dad’s) for BF’s brother’s engagement party on New Years Eve. But hey, Kelly put her foot down… too much, I need to rest!!!

On New Years Eve we drove to Borellen, just outside of Leeton and had an OK night. But went back into Leeton after midnight, still not feeling 100% from gastro. We spent 3 days in Leeton, skied on the 3rd of Jan, I had a go on the knee board, biscuit and double ski’s.

On the 4th we flew to Sydney for our job interviews for OS. We had sign ups with schools Thursday arvo and an interview with a school in Angola as well. We went out for tea to Tony Romas, near Darling Harbour and had a great night. We got back to Star City around 10.30, next day we had interviews and presentations all day, we had interviews with International Schools in Suzhou in China, Tokyo in Japan, Tanzania and Indonesia. Friday night we went to the Casino briefly and lost $25 in 10 minutes on pokies. We wanted to have a go at poker, but too many people and too expensive per hand, we’re too tight for that! Sunday we flew back to Griffith and got picked up and went back to Leeton. The next day we drove back to Wodonga.

We were supposed to drive to Paynesville in Gippsland to go camping on the 8th, but due to the fires near Tambo Crossing and Bruthen, the Great Alpine road was cut, which meant going the long way. As I hadn’t stopped since school had finished I was stuffed and in the ‘I can’t be F’d’ mood! So I sat on the idea for a few days. I hadn’t seen my family yet and I miss them terribly. So I told Kane let’s just do it. On Thursday we packed and let for our trip, the long, but safe way J

Back- peddling…

I got my nose pierced on Wednesday the 10th! It’s still a bit tender, I was so nervous. Before this I had been felling a bit sick since Sydney, all a bit too much I hear! I nearly fainted Wednesday night at dinner with some friends, I think from shock and exhaustion. And with the long 7 hour drive on Thursday, I got a lovely cold, blocked nose, which did my piercing great discomfort and a sore throat as well as feeling more exhausted.

Eagle Ponit Caravan Park was fun. It was great to see my family, I got sun burnt, took lots of Cold and Flu tablets and nose spray to unblock my nose. We went for a small walk and did some canoeing, lots of talking, went into Bairnsdale for lunch and then came back to Traralgon on the 14th.

Last night I went out to dinner with a friend and today I took my brother’s out for lunch to the Ice-creamery. I love their baked potatoes.

So I am up-to-date, well in a short/condensed version I am. So much has happened and this post doesn’t even get down into the nitty-gritty of it.

I am exhausted and it hasn’t even finished yet. On Thursday I am supposed to go home to Wodonga (5 hour trip) and then drive back to Healesville (3 hour trip) for my Grandfathers 70th birthday Party, and then drive home again. The following week will be spent at home!!!! After that back to workL

How can 5 weeks be gone that fast? I am not ready for work, and I still feel very exhausted from everything else.

Never again will I do this much in my holidays, remind me please.

I have heard back from some schools about job OS, but I’ll save that for another post J Oh and I put on 2kg, lost it with gastro, put on 2kg’s and lost it from lose of appetite when feeling sick. So I am back to 60.5kg again.

Cheerio,

Sorry it was so long!

WOW Kelly!

You sound very similar to me that you like to make the most of your free time! You sure got up to heaps over Christmas. Take it easy now and hope your sunburn/cold is feeling better and the nose piercing is settling!

I don't have 5 weeks off, but I plan all week for the weekend! THEN make sure make the most of it. It's been a few weeks since I've gone to work Mon feeling refreshed, - usually takes till Tue. I always have BIG activity days on Sundays and often don't get to bed till midnight then have to get up early! AND even though I was slathering on sunscreen all last Sun I still managed to get very burnt!

All the best Kelly. 60.5kg sounds nice and lean!!!

Wow Kelly, you have certainly had a busy few weeks!! On top of all the rennovating you just did that is amazing that you have any energy left.

Congrats on the nose piercing (sorry about the cold though). Very cool!

So are you planning to start another challenge? I don't think I can do another one but I will totally encourage you. You go girl. I am just trying to calorie count... Weight loss is slow, but we will get there.

Have a great weekend. Rebecca
