Week 5 Day 4

Break-through!!!

I'm a 50's girl today! I was 59.7kg. I haven't been 59kg since I had gastro in Year 11, I would've been 16-17 yrs old. I was pretty happy. I tried the scales 6 times just to make sure!!! One time I was 60kg, another two times I was 59.5kg but I was 59.7kg 3 times so I'll go with that. I'll probably be up to 60.5kg again tomorrow as I seem to bounce around alot but it eventually bounces downwards!

Have a great day, I am.

Week 5 Day 3

Fish and veg - awesome!

I ate Bassa for tea tonight.. with veggies... yum, yum, yum!! Added some lemon and salt for flavour but it was delicious, just wanted to share. Catching up on some blogs and seeing what people are up to as well as researching a possible school to work in in China next year. I did cardio and shoulders/back/chest on Monday and did cardio yesterday, I am going to to abs tonight, legs and cardio tomorrow as well as a massage and power walk on Friday... all planned, lets see it happen. Booked in for measurements on Saturday morning and will get Kane to do 6 week progress photos on Monday. I'm a busy little beaver, I like saying 'little' now as most of my clothes are now falling off, especially my favourite pair of black work pants, sad to say goodbye though ;(

Hope your having a great week chickie-babes

Week 5 Day 6

Not much to report I'm afraid!

It's been pretty slow and steady at my end. My weight has gone up a little bit, so I think I've hit a plateau! I will have to watch my diet/exercise very carefully for the next two weeks. I'm about to hit the hump fortnight of my challenge. Tomorrow I am playing in a netball final, it's all very dramatic at the moment. Our GA isn't playing. I only found this out on Thursday and apparently she won't be there for Grand Final either... so tomorrow I'm shooting by myself. Well, it feels like that I'm sure they'll find someone for me to play with!

Kane won his final today, so his is straight into the GF. He is out celebrating tonight and I am at home watching Memoirs of a Geisha. Seems quite good at the moment. Only a quick check in. Hope everyone is have a great weekend.

Week 5 Day 3

Hi everyone,

Mostly back on the wagon again... do you like the sound of that? Mostly! I have had a great week with exercise and nearly on track with food... only dash to a mini fun size milky way at school. I did a great power walk on Monday and then legs/arms at the gym, DOM's set in yesterday arvo. I fought through a spin class, but couldn't give it everything, just too sore. I struggled to get my heart rate up at all, I think I got up to 148, which is pretty pathetic... I can usually get to 170 in a spin class. I woke up at 6.00 to do a 30 minute jog, I chickened out too sore and too many hills, I'm a sook. Did abs tonight and was going to do arms, will do them tomorrow I think before netball training. My rest day was going to be Saturday before my next final but I'll do the 30mins jog in the morning, it might make me really tired so I can sleep Saturday night... must sleep...must sleep!!! Lol.

The house-cleaner came today. I love the feeling of walking into your house and knowing that the cleaning has been done... and the smell. I don't even have to think about it this week anymore, one less thing to stress about. I think this will help my BF and I as well... no more arguments over the cleaning I mean.

Ok so meals today:
M1 - Porridge and protein powder
M2 - Stir-fry, veg and rice
M3 - Chicken patties and tatziki dip, apple
M4 - 4 rice cakes
M5 - eye fillet, veg and mushroom sauce
M6 - diet lemon jelly and cottage cheese
Not enough water :( , 1 decaf coffee

Off to fold the washing and then to bed I think, I feel my cold re-surfacing... more echinacea needed.

Good luck to Selina in her netball final this week, well done to Donna for her first two days with IBO, Rebecca for getting back on the wagon, I'm proud of you! and...Cate for breaking the plateau! And cheers to everyone who is visiting.

Week 5 day 1

We won!!!!!
I can't believe it, we were down by 9 at one stage and we won by 3!
My poor body though...
I was so nervous, I ate my oats in the morning and that was it... I couldn't eat anything else I felt so sick. I managed to drink lots of water and a had a gatorade to try and give me a bit more energy plus two guarana tablets. I tried to have a nap.... yeah right... like that was going to happen!!!!!!! So I played at 2.15 and the game finished at 3.55, over an hour and a half. There were 6 time outs for blood etc, one was mine! So my body finally let me eat at 4.30! I feel terrible today. No energy, tired etc. My poor body. So at home from work about to go for my powerwalk. Only 3 weeks to go till Grand Final... if we get that far. So next Sunday we play Rutherglen. I spoke about this team a few weeks ago. It was the team that swore and were quite feral! Anyway to next post :)

Nerves are kicking in!

I am getting so nervous about my final today, and it's not even a Grand Final. I think it's the added stress of being an elimination final. I went out and watched two other teams play in the qualifying yesterday and now I know who we'll have to play next weekend if we win today. My heart is beating and I have that butterfly feeling in my stomach. I might have to run to the toilet soon as well, lol! I couldn't sleep very well last night, had a really strong dream about a Tsunami hitting me and my family on the beach. I might look that one up on an online dream website. I couldn't get back to sleep after it at 10pm for 2 hours. My God it was annoying, and then my BF decided he was cold and threw a blanket on top of us, a pure wool one at that... pretty heavy, so I was a wake at 3am again for another hour. So I might try to have something to eat and go back to sleep for a bit, I need all the energy I can get at 2.15 today.

Week 4 Day 6 Sorry about the brag!!

I woke up this morning and guess what? Smack bang on my 60kg target!!!! So I though lets take some photos to see the difference from 4 weeks ago or one month into the challenge. Please excuse the hair!!!

Before 61.4kg

After four weeks 60.0kg

I can see a huge difference in these photos and it's only been 4 weeks and half hearted at that. I think this is the inspiration I needed to really concentrate on being dedicated as I think I can achieve wonderful results from this point on.

Sorry about the brag, but I was pretty excited!

Week 1 Day 5

Been a very busy this week and all without cardio. Tried to eat as clean as possible this week and had mixed results. Weighed myself this morning not expecting too much in term of scale weight due to not training and was pleasantly surprised to see a drop of 400g on the scales and a drop of body fat. I think not eating carbs after M4 has a lot to do with this as well as protein at each meal. I don't tend to get hungry during the day as much as I used to and I often feel like I'm eating way too much, (who ever thought I'd eat 6 thin rice cakes???? I used to think 2-3 was plenty!!!! Add a protein shake and this is heaps for me.

My knee has come good with a few days rest. It was still a little tender when running yesterday, but I think this was more to do with the bruising around the knee area rather than muscle soreness. I am planning on playing on Sunday and so I might even get it strapped just to be careful.

My references and application went through for teaching overseas next year and so today we started searching for jobs. There are quite a few out there but they all require immediate starts, Kane and I would rather finish this school year and then go over next year.

Alrighty... it feels weird not playing tomorrow, Kane does, which is also a bit of a nuisance because we have to drive out to Sandy Creek (30 mins away) both days, and both of us don't play until 2.15 so there goes two whole days. Can't wait for this season to be oo.vv.ee.rr!!!!

Have a great weekend everyone

Week 4 Day 2 Sick!!!

I am sitting in bed today at 5.30 (been here from 4.30 watching Bold and Beautiful) sick, sick, sick! I've been feeling pretty crappy since Saturday morning but kept plodding along. Yesterday the headache and dry mouth started despite the 3 litres of water and today the tiredness just has not left. I've had 2 litres of water so far and still have a 'heavy head.' You know that feeling? it just a pain-in-the arse, so I'm expecting a full on cold tomorrow and a sore throat! So in bed I am trying to rest and get better quick.

In my last post I mentioned that I had hurt my hip. On Sunday I stood in the Yackandandah creek for 20 minutes to try and bring out any bruises etc. (BF swears by it) I got out of the creek and started to feel a twinge in my right knee, it got worse and worse until I was limping around on my right leg! (Lucky the creek fixed my left hip!) I went to the osteopath yesterday arvo and he discovered a strained muscle in the back of my calf/knee. He worked on it and know it is quite purple... blue... black!
Very pretty, but very sore. I've emailed Sue and Michelle and I am to rest it until Thursday on my osteos orders, and then try to run on Thursday night. So there goes my cardio. I must be extra strict on nutrition to keep on track. Lots of water to get rid of nasty toxins and keep my fingers crossed that I am OK to play in the elimination final this Sunday. If you pray... Pray for me!!

Allrighty must try to sleep a bit know, hoping everyone is well, I've been checking everyone's blogs and it must be a busy time of year... Know that I'm thinking of everyone!
Top: The back of my knee
Below: The inside of my calf

Week 3 Day 7 Injured!

Yesterday was an interesting day. I had netball, we played the top team without our 'real team'. This team was tough. The defenders I played on in goals are good, my head came up to their shoulders, felt like I kept kissing them!!! Their arm length was freakish! I play in a country league, these girls should be and used to play in the premier league 'Ovens and Murray'. Any how, the girl I usually play with Karla had a commitment and couldn't play (same as last time we played them in round 6) and so I was left to do the duties with our defender!!! and the B grade shooter! Last time we played them with the said combination we got flogged, something like 11-60??? Yesterday it was more a respectible 23-55! Hopefully if we get far enough in the finals we will do even better with a full team!

Injured! In the first quarter I tripped over my players foot and slam.... left hip hit the concrete... HARD! Bloody knee, sore shoulder too... no biggy, but gee my hip is so sore. I was limping around at the vote count/presentation night last night and everyone thought I had hurt my ankle, but no, it was my hip! Thus, I am not sure how cardio will go this week. I was keen to wake up this morning and go for a power walk... yes get back on the wagon! but it is just too sore, I'm still slightly limping around. I may have to do a bit on the exercise bike at the gym this week until I can move around freely. Any suggestions?

Kane got hit in the head yesterday so he has three stiches, luckily there was a docter there yesterday so they popped in a general and did the stitching during half time and back on he went, friggin boys!!! He is feeling a bit sorry for himself today.

Yesterday I did really well with food.

M1 - Porridge with cottage cheese and sugar free maple syrup (becoming my favourite!)
M2 - Guarana shot and sandwich plate at football.
M3 - Chicken pie (free meal)
M4 - Protein bar and manderine
M5 - Grilled fish and salad.

I had a few woodstocks last night and so I couldn't sleep last night, might be the sugar in it or maybe the caffeine. Got terrible cramps as well. Bloody cats didn't help!

So my weigh in day is tomorrow but I took a sneak peak today!!! My last four days have been quite good in terms of nutrition and so it is paying off on the scales. A big effort on the food today and I should report good result tomorrow to Michelle. Fingers crossed!

Lots of water today, eggs this morning, roast for lunch and fish tonight again.

Positives...
Each day I wake up lay flat on my back and feel my stomach. It is definately getting smaller, plus I bought my first pair of size 10's on Wednesday night. Results are coming as slack as I've been. Onwards and upwards my friends!

Have a great Sunday,
Kelly

Week 3 Day 4 What a week.

To be honest I haven't been 100% dedicated over the past two weeks so it's time to come clean.

I have missed two power walks, one jog, one interval class and one spin class over the past three weeks. My eating has been dodgy and my water has only just been scrapping in. I have been feeling down for over a week now, taking this out on my poor BF and doing not much but sit on the couch. To clarify my eating. I do eat to the plan with most of my meals but will add in a few choc's and other naughties. I have maintained my weight and body fat over the past week. My monthly is upon me and so I hope to notice some differences next week. I emailed Michelle at the start of the week and she kicked my a** a little so my eating has been good the past two days!! Yay... little clap, I can do this!

I had a massage tonight before netball training, my glut's and thighs were so tight from sleeping in a fetal position last Saturday night on a frozen mattress! Have cleaned the house tonight, I'm off now to clean the shower and fold washing.

Have a great weekend,
Kelly

Week 3 Day 1

I can not believe it is week 3 already! It doesn't sound real. Well the weekend was definitely action packed. Netball on Saturday, won this and we are now through to the finals if Barnawartha lose this weekend to the second placed team. We beat Barnawartha on the weekend by 22. I got best on court!!!!! My back is soooo sore from landing on the concrete all game, it feels like I have a dull ache in my lower ache, just like period pain.

Saturday night we had a 40th birthday party. It was a big, late night. I tried slept in a caravan outside, woke up in the morning and found a window open above my head. No wonder I froze! Sleeping is what I need to catch up on, had a huge sleep last night, 10 hours. My students at school are all sick, 8 away today, so fingers crossed my daily echinacea tablet is keeping away all those nasty bugs. I have headache at the moment so lots of water, hopefully not a bug!! Off to take my cats to the vet for needles and to have my green tea.

Week 2 Day 5.. Rest Day!!!

Kane and I at his Mum's wedding last year, I think I'm 5kg lighter now. I am definitely feeling a big difference in clothes, especially around the backside! Getting lots of positive comments and disbelief that I have lost so much weight.

What a lovely feeling, a rest day. I got to get waxed, clean the house and do the food shopping after school. I am one of those people who likes to be clean and tidy... I'm sure I've mentioned that before :) So working full time and playing netball on a Saturday only leaves one day per week to get most things cleaned, organised, and to rest as well. Soooo.... I've decided to clean and shop Friday night after work (I'm sure you're asking me if I'm stupid... my BF does!) but I think... it gets all that extra crap out of the way and leaves time for exercise and quality time on my only free day, Sunday. So here I am finally sitting down after the week, all exercise done so far except for my spinning class on Tuesday. Thursdays leg/arm session in the gym was terrific, feel like I am finally getting the technique correct when doing the tricep extension, I feel the DOMs coming on in my left tricep so I'm sure this is a true indicator, but I also think I'll be feeling it in my thighs tomorrow as well. Food could be better, I definitely need to work on the food area of my plan, getting organised is the key!!! Hope everyone has a great weekend. I plan to get on here on Sunday and write that we won netball and are now into the finals... fingers crossed (we are currently 6th however we should be 3rd with our percentage).
Cheerio,
Kelly

PS, Congrats to Rebecca on sticking to her plan soo well... you're a champ!

Week 2 Day 3 - Mid week news!

Yesterday I had a lazy day. I was sooo tired from my busy weekend that I crashed in a heap on the couch. I was supposed to go to a spinning class at 7.15, but my friend Renee the intructor cancelled about 1 hour before the session... (damn! I was so disaapointed, not!) Instead I got an early night, it was so good to be in bed by 8.45. I am feeling so much better for it today, feel like I have so much more energy and I'm not yawning every few minutes. So no cardio yesterday. Did Walk/Jog/Srint/Walk combo tonight with BF, he pushed me which was great. Burnt 386 calories and 40% of that was fat or so the wonderful polar watch says so. Max HR or 179 average was around 143. I'll do abs just before bed.

I set my weight goal at 60kg for the 6 week mark of my challenge, today I was at 60.8kg... whooo hooo. I think I'll have to change my target. I'm trying to focus more on losing body fat than weight, but little positives like this are nice.

Hello to all out in blogland,

Kelly

PS.. I didn't win 5th division in tattslotto :(
